Personal Input

When I first joined the team, I felt very out-of-depth. Although I had a strong interest in physics and mathematics, I did not really understand how rocketry worked. It was nerve-wracking for me to present to professionals, and several times, I doubted my ability to finish my task because I was afraid to make mistakes. However, after working for the better part of a year with my captain, co-captain and my teammates, I realized that my supportive teammates were there for me each time I had a question. This taught me the importance of teamwork and having support

Furthermore, NASA Student Launch has instilled in me the importance of discipline. Because the NASA Student Launch team is composed of students with vastly different and busy schedules, it is often difficult for us to find time to work together. However, it is absolutely necessary and after joining the team, I am confident that I have better time management and discipline.

Generally, I would like to sincerely thank NASA Student Launch and the Vertical Projectile Team for all the precious learning experiences. I have had a great time!

Catherine's Biography

I am a junior in high school, and my hobbies are reading, mathematics, and volunteering in my community!

My favorite subjects in school are mathematics and physics; therefore, my interest for rocketry followed. Joining the NASA Student Launch team this year has been my first experience with rocketry. I have been lucky to be able to work with such a great captain, co-captain and teammates. They have guided me through multiple steps involved in designing and building a rocket; my budding interest in rocketry has since turned into a passion. I find it fascinating how rocketry is able to combine my love for mathematics, physics and hands-on projects.
